Ian and Fran Wood the owners of a French restaurant and a popular Kendal bar have opened another business in the town centre.
Solesides Social Club and the soon-to-open Deja-vu by Day have replaced the Square Orange in Blackhall Yard and are the latest offerings from the husband and wife team.
The couple, who own Déjà-vu Bistro on Stricklandgate and Lounge Lizard Bistro Bar on Highgate, said they had some initial concerns over expanding the business during a recession but felt confident both venues would be a success.
Solesides Social Club, which opened last week, will host a variety of themed music nights and live performances.
Deja-vu by Day will continue the French theme of the restaurant and is due to open on May 6, with an official launch party for both venues taking place the following night.
