Liverpool’s top restaurants are lining up to take part in the forthcoming Food & Drink Festival – a week-long event which organisers say will be the biggest ever and could create a culinary boom for the city’s eateries.

The festival, taking place from September 13, already has venues including 60 Hope Street, Alma de Cuba, Host, Quarter, London Carriage Works, Yee Rah, Chocolate Cellar and Zeligs, signing up to take part, and will take place in Sefton Park. Visitors will be able to enjoy an array of dishes from the city’s top restaurants, along with live music, beer tents and a children’s play area.

Vince Margiotta, whose restaurants Il Forno and Sapporo are sponsoring the festival, which also has backing from The Mersey Partnership, said: “Slowly, we’re building a festival to be reckoned with.”
