Preparations for the Nantwich Food and Drink Festival are well under way, with Northwich-based Roberts Bakery announced as the headline sponsor.

The ninth annual festival will take place in and around the historic market town from Friday to Sunday, September 25-27.

Roberts Bakery is one of the most established food brands in Cheshire, producing over 2m loaves, rolls and bakery treats each week, which are widely available in supermarkets and local stores across the county and beyond.

Nantwich Food and Drink Festival manager Phil Riding said: “Roberts Bakery is a historic Cheshire brand, which makes this a perfect partnership.

“The aim of the festival is to showcase some of the best regional produce and so it seems fitting that one of the best known and loved local food producers should come on board as headline sponsor.”

Robert’s Bakery sponsoring Nantwich Food&Drink; San Miguel Sponsoring Liverpool F&D; Nandos having a stall at last year’s Southport F&D - I can’t be the only one thinking that festivals should have some qualms about accepting bigger & poorer quality food co.s as sponsors?

I know when times are tight this is a really difficult area, and I’m not sure what the answer is.
