Ramada Manchester Salford Quays was last week named Brand Engagement Hotel of the Year as the prestigious global Wyndham Awards; the annual awards of the Wyndham Hotel Group - the world’s largest hospitality company.
The award was announced after the hotel came out on top against all Wyndham Group hotels within Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Since launching in summer 2008, Ramada Manchester Salford Quays has gone to great lengths to establish itself as a market leader in Greater Manchester’s competitive hotel industry. Located in The Quays - the city’s historic waterfront – the Ramada has offered affordable quality whilst also reaching out to the local community through targeted initiatives. These include engaging with local schools encouraging school children to use the hotel’s kitchen and restaurant for educational purposes and making significant donations to local charities.
Also honoured at the Wyndham Awards was Manchester’s budget Days Hotel owned by Opal. The hotel was named Engagement Hotel of the Year.
Paul Gallon, General Manager, Ramada Manchester Salford Quays comments: “In a highly competitive industry we are very pleased to have come out on top. We have worked very hard in the last year to make sure that the hotel is a true reflection of the core values of the brand and that it is an ambassador for the brand within the city.”
Michael Poynter Managing Director EMEA comments: “We are absolutely delighted to recognise both Ramada Salford Quays and Days Hotel Manchester as 2009 Brand Engagement Hotel of the Year. It is great to see Manchester lead the way in bringing the Days Hotel and Ramada brands to life. Both hotels thoroughly deserve to be recognised for the fantastic work they have done in the last year.”
