The Bulb, a stylish Italian bar/enoteca & eatery has opened its doors in Manchester’s vibrant Northern Quarter.
The Bulb is part of The Light, Manchester’s newest 5-star Boutique ApartHotel located on Church Street. It will offer residents and the general public a relaxed and contemporary venue in which to unwind and enjoy a glass of wine and some exciting Italian cuisine.
The menu has been carefully designed to offer diners a choice of simple mezzo style meals, or a full three course Italian feast. The authentic Italian menu brings a true taste of Italy to Manchester, and includes dishes such as a classic Italian affettati misti with speciality meats imported from Italy. The menu also includes a fresh range of antipasti, pizza, pasta and secondi dishes, plus a selection of authentic dolci. All dishes are made from fresh produce, locally sourced where possible.
The wine list for The Bulb has been given the same careful consideration as the food. Other than Champagne, the extensive wine list is made up solely of an interestingly broad range of Italian wines. Many of the wines listed are from small independent vineyards and are not available anywhere else in the city, and in some cases the North West.
The Bulb will be run by established Manchester restaurateur Brett Stewart and his business partner and Italian wine specialist Juliusz Lisowski. Commenting on The Bulb, Brett said, “The Bulb is honest Italian food with great wine in a relaxed environment; it’s what you’d expect if you visited a restaurant in Italy - what more can you ask for! It’s ideal if you just want a glass of wine with some olives and bread to wind down after work, or if you’re looking for nice surroundings for a meal with a gathering of friends or family.”
