Holiday Inn at MediaCityUK to open in October

Peel Leisure has announced their Holiday Inn hotel at MediaCityUK will be opening in October 2010.

Located on Manchester’s Waterfront, Salford Quays, the Holiday Inn Manchester-MediaCityUK will offer 218 air-conditioned en-suite bedrooms, a gym, meeting facilities and private dining, at the heart of the largest purpose built media community in Europe.

The hotel’s fine dining experience will offer guests the chance to sample fine British cuisine at The Green Room Restaurant, the hotel`s stylish restaurant on the mezzanine floor, or for a light-bite offering meet at the Hub Bar, the perfect place for morning coffee, afternoon tea, lunch, bar snacks and that important after work drink.

MediaCityUK is a brand new city for the media and creative industries. Developed by Peel Media, the first phase – due for completion in 2011 – is spread over 36 acres but there is the potential to utilise the entire site of 200 acres over the next decade.

The BBC will move over 2,500 staff to MediaCityUK from 2011 onwards and the University of Salford have committed to a new campus at MediaCityUK, which will accommodate more than 1,500 students and staff.

At the centre of MediaCityUK is one of Europe’s biggest high definition studio complexes with a state-of-the-art communications infrastructure.

MediaCityUK is two minutes away from the motorway network and the new MediaCityUK tram stop will effectively double the current frequency making the new hotel ideally situated for the business and leisure traveller alike.
