NO BUT CHEF JAMES LUNHAM RETURNS FROM HIS TRAVELS TO BRING A TASTE OF OZ TO THE MANCHESTER CASINO
Circus Casino’s beloved Head Chef James Lunham has returned to the city centre’s 110 Restaurant in style, bringing with him a brand new Aussie inspired menu.
James, who left Manchester at the start of 2010 to travel to Australia, has been busy over the past few months coming up with new ideas for his menu, which incorporates both traditional dishes along with a few Australian delicacies taken from his time working as a chef in Darling Harbour, Sydney.
James says: “I wanted to put a menu together which would incorporate the skills I learnt while working in Australia. Some of the dishes on this menu you can’t order in any other restaurant in Manchester. I wanted to set 110 Restaurant apart from other restaurants in the region and I hope this menu will do that.”
Dishes such as pan seared King Scallops and Strawberries and grilled John Dorey fillets are just some of the dishes James has brought back from down under, with one of his favorites being the Roasted Rack of Lamb and mini shepherds’ pie.
All dishes on the new menu are made using locally sourced produce, which will help James achieve his next goal of rosette status for the restaurant.
James says: “ I would really like to work towards a rosette for the restaurant, I think we have what it takes to achieve it and if we do we will be one of the only casino restaurants in Manchester to have rosette status.”
The menu may have changed but the prices at 110 have stayed the same, offering a selection of deals including any two-courses for £15 and any three courses for £18. There is also the ever-popular three-course menu for £12.50 available Sunday to Thursday.
